2026 Westnewton Culvert Project

The existing Westnewton Culvert is damaged and needs to be replaced.
These works are planned to be carried out during Summer 2026.
 

• ​These works will require some road closures and will impact the village with NO through road to Allonby.

• The exact date for the works is yet to be confirmed and is awaiting the final permit to be issued by Environment Agency to carry out works in Westnewton Beck, during a specified period.

• A drop-in session will be planned once more details are known but it is envisaged these works will be mid July 2026

• Ongoing discussions with the project team are being held to address any of the issues raised by residents. The aim is to keep everyone updated with information as it is confirmed!!
